Description
For teat cuts and lesions especially blackspot disorder
What is Blackspot?
Blackspot is lesions on the teats of cows and are almost always confined to the tip and including the orifice of the teat sinus. They are deep ulcers containing granulation tissue and usually a black spot. Milk flow is impeded and the lesion is very painful, although Staphylococcus aureus is usually recoverable from the lesions. Blackspot grows up the teat canal causing the orifice to open and leak milk. This may lead to bacteria that cause mastitis to enter the udder.
